Sony

Love it or hate it, Sony is in a class by itself when it comes to incredible bravado and shameless self promotion. Though that may rub us the wrong way as consumers, it makes for some pretty sweet displays at a trade show!

The company had a little bit of everything on display this year, but none of it was really new technology. Like all of the other big TV manufacturers, the big word of the day was 1080p.

Philips

Philips Electronics had a couple neat "proof of concept" products that it was demoing this year at CES. Top on the list was this Ambilight TV, which is designed to be mounted in-wall rather than on the wall. Though this may never make it to market, it was definitely a cool idea!

Aside from the proof of concept pieces, the booth featured lots of 1080p TVs. Philips makes one of the best on the market, and its Ambilight technology does quite a bit to alleviate eye strain while you watch.
